World One Health Day

World One Health Day is an international observance celebrated annually on November 3rd. This day serves as a reminder of the global efforts to promote the One Health approach, which recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal and environmental health. The observance emphasizes the importance of collaborative, multisectoral and transdisciplinary efforts to address emerging health challenges such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, food safety concerns and the impacts of environmental changes.

In commemoration of World One Health Day 2025, the Jammu and Kashmir Veterinary Doctors Association (JKVDA-K) organized the One Health Conference – 2025 on November 15, 2025, at the Shalimar Convention Centre. The conference brought together veterinary professionals, medical experts, environmental scientists, academicians and policymakers on a common platform to deliberate on key issues and strategies under the One Health framework.

The conference aimed to raise awareness, promote knowledge exchange and strengthen coordination among various stakeholders to effectively tackle present and future health challenges. Through this initiative, the Jammu and Kashmir Veterinary Doctors Association (JKVDA-K) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the One Health approach by fostering collaboration and supporting integrated efforts to safeguard public health, animal health, and environmental sustainability.
