Animal welfare refers to the well-being of animals, including their physical, mental, and emotional health. It is an important concept that reflects our responsibility to ensure that animals are treated with respect and compassion, and that their needs and interests are taken into consideration. Animal welfare is a fundamental aspect of ethical behaviour and responsible stewardship, and it is essential for maintaining healthy and sustainable relationships with animals. It encompasses a wide range of issues, including proper nutrition, shelter, and medical care, as well as the prevention of cruelty, neglect, and abuse. It is the responsibility of individuals, organizations, and governments to ensure that animals are treated with dignity and respect, and that their welfare is protected and promoted.

Jammu and Kashmir Veterinary Doctors Association (JKVDA) aims to play a crucial role by educating their members and the general public about the principles of animal welfare and the ethical treatment of animals. We plan to provide guidance and resources to veterinary professionals to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide the highest standards of care to animals.

In addition to promoting education and awareness, JKVDA will also play an important role in advocating for policies and practices that promote animal welfare. The association will work closely with government and other organizations to promote animal welfare legislation, and to ensure that animals are protected from cruelty, neglect, and abuse.
